Annual Report
The Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change (MoEF&CC) oversees the implementation of India’s environment and forest policies and programmes, relating to conservation of the country’s natural resources including lakes and rivers, its biodiversity, forests and wildlife, ensuring the welfare of animals and prevention and abatement of pollution. The ministry has initiated a number of schemes, to tackle the issues related to the environment challenges due to fast growing developmental process in the country. It monitors the progress of these scheme through the various mechanism evolved by the Government. The annual assessment of these schemes is done on the basis of their physical and financial achievements during each financial year. The progress and achievements of all the schemes are compiled by the Ministry. This report is prepared every year and placed in both the Houses of the Parliament. The Statistical Cell of the Ministry has been assigned the responsibility for preparation of the Ministry’s Annual Report.
